- English cheeese festivals are hidden within local agricultural shows. The French are entirely unabashed and permit the festival to entirely take over a village for the day.
- The range of cheeese seen in Nantwich, a judged competition, is far broader than that at Rocamadour, which appears more a celebration of a specific local style.
- You won't find aligot at Nantwich.
- The cheeese-making goats aren't blessed at the local church in England. Neither are they droved through the middle of the festival grounds.
- English tasting portions are substantially larger than French.
- Then again, there are actually some bad cheeeses in England.
- Great though Stilton is, it's possible that Cashel produces the finest blue cheeeses in the Isles (they're in Ireland).
